The Goal with Goals

A new year marks the time for people to start making resolutions and setting goals. But staying on track and motivated seems so difficult and many people give up by February. What is the purpose of making goals if we don’t stick to them and see them through? This is something that many of us struggle with, but I have a couple of tips that just might help you stick to your goals THIS year.
1. Set Attainable Goals
Do NOT set goals so far-reaching that the probability of them coming to fruition is minimal. Because…if you don’t reach that goal it will be defeating and discouraging. Set goals throughout the year that have trackable milestones and are attainable. Think baby steps. Once each milestone is reached you can celebrate, and you’ll feel more motivated to keep going and pushing yourself to reach your next goal.
2. Make Time
Each day set aside time where you are going to focus on working towards your goals, even if it’s for just 10 minutes a day to start. Starting small will help keep you motivated and even excited about chipping away at your goal. Then when you feel confident that you’re going to stick to it, you can slowly start adding on time each day.
3. Be Flexible
Life happens and things come up. Don’t let an illness or a busy week with your kiddos discourage you. Be kind to yourself and allow some flexibility. You can jump back in and keep working towards those goals when life settles down.
Conclusion
The goal with goals is to reach them, celebrate, and stay motivated to keep pushing and challenging yourself. With business, setting annual goals helps you to stay focused and motivated to grow.
